College student trying to find her place in the world. Born Californian with the love of making art. I dabble in various mediums, but my favorite is digital and pastel. Writing is an outlet in becoming a different person and bringing the stories in my head to life---or at least on paper.
I'm hoping to have a successful writing career.
Sometimes it’s difficult to get back into what you love doing most… or something new that you tried and really really really wanted to keep up with. Though the phrase “Don’t feel bad” would be most comforting, it never seems that way. Not when it comes to the slight disappointment in yourself for wanting to have accomplished something without giving up on it.
take this blog for example. I had told myself that i was going to blog at LEAST once a week. And I just saw that my last post was from October! Sigh… but yet, here i am again. This time i’m determined to keep my small goal. Whether it be something silly or serious or whatever, i’m going to post. That way… when i get used to the habit of posting, hopefully, my posts will get a lot better as time goes on. Then i can celebrate like Monica is doing with those snazzy dance moves of hers.
But i’m not that coordinated…
So, fellow readers and bloggers, catch you on the next post, and don’t forget… take small steps into getting back to what you want, or love, to do. Whatever that may be.
Over the weekend, I went to a small little Pumpkin patch fair by my home. It was so cute, and I wanted to stay there forever! It made me feel like I was in an old time being surrounded by all those pumpkins. And the country music they played was absolutely beautiful!
Look at all those pumpkins!!!
Picked up this little guy to take a picture with him and his friends. lol
The following day, I started gutting out the pumpkin and attempted to making Frankenstien COME TO LIFFFFEEE! But this was as close as I got. 🙂
It was overall a BRILLIANT trip to the patch! I want to go again just to walk around.
Do you ever have those days where everything and everyone around you seems to still be moving, but you’re at a stand-still?
I call this the “stand-still blues”. You feel so out of sorts, and like nothing will fix how you feel. It’s pretty bogus if you ask me. It’s unfair to feel this way when you contemplate WHAT lead to this feeling, but can’t come up with any. Huh.
Jesus. I am having one of those days, my friend. And let me add that it blows chunks.
I don’t feel productive whatsoever. I’m constantly feeling so closed off and that anything people say sounds a lot like that teacher from the Charlie Brown movies. That whole, “Womp, womp, womp…” is all I’m hearing, but am not fortunate enough to understand what exactly is being said.
So now I’m sitting here, at my desk at work, and pondering how to change this when we have those days. What could possibly be beneficial to giving a small nudge in the uplifting direction? I’d say sleep is required, but what if you already HAD a good night’s sleep?
Ya get me?
Do any of YOU have any remedies to curing the “Stand-Still Blues”?
By the time Simon Rich graduated from Harvard, where he served as president of the Harvard Lampoon, he had a two-book deal from Random House. Less than a decade later, the humorist has written four short story collections and two comic novels. He also spent four years writing for Saturday Night Live (he was the youngest writer SNL ever hired) and about two years at Pixar, and is now at work on a film and a television series.
Rich’s level of productivity, impressive as it is, takes a backseat to the quality of his humor writing. His stories are crystalline, eccentric, and universally hilarious. Many of the stories in his new collection, Spoiled Brats are built on an unusual premise, or told from a surprising angle. In “Animals,” a hamster narrates his wretched existence as a…
So i know this isn’t one of my “10 Things About Me” challenge,BUUUUUUUUUTUH….
I just HAD to post the news. It’s probably no biggie, but to moi, it’s eh-huge!
I officially have a review on Barnes and Noble for my first book: Barriers of Commitment! I was doing my thang of checking up on sales, and voila! There it was… sitting so beautifully and next to it were five sparkling stars!!!!
Okay… so they weren’t SPARKLING… but there were five. Honest.
Here’s the review from Charisma001 left today:
Read this when it was on Wattpad. Such a great read! I’m currently saving up to buy this book, the author did such a wonderful job of creating someone so drool worthy like Nathan. This story was so heart aching, and at times I had gotten overly emotional that i cried. I’m hoping for Book 2, so I can’t wait for the next one!
I don’t know who you are, but I thank you for taking the time to review my book. That means the world to me! >_<
About a year ago, I started thinking of an on-going project that I could do when school gets on my nerves. while other people were making sculptures (I suck, i really do. I’m not THAT creative), I remembered how much I am glued to my computer. Sadly, that was becoming a problem. So i decided to change it up a bit and make it out to be like i was “working on art”.
And ta-dah! Photoshop was born into my computer’s external drive.
So, i decided that since i like collages so much, i wanted to make one too. The subject of my collage came to me over a discussion with a friend who accused me that I couldn’t think of anything romantic due to my lack of… well… caring. To prove her wrong, I decided to create up different drawings that would reflect the most romantic thing between a couple: a kiss.
Yes. That’s right. Am i wrong? Probably. But that’s ok! You don’t have to agree with me. But i’ve gotten a few responses that my drawings remind them of a childhood experience or something they’d like to do with their significant others. THAT’S what my art is about. I just want to hear people’s thoughts… their feelings… it’s like… hm… how can i explain…
Okay. It’s like I’m creating a made up story, and in turn of letting someone read my “book”, I get to hear one in return. Beautiful, i know. It’s the inner writer inside. Haha. Just kidds. Maybe.
Without further stalling… here i present my “Work In Progress“: The Kiss Collage.
